Scottie knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life at a very young age. Most kids have fantasies of becoming a nurse, a fireman, a policeman or maybe even a rockstar. But by the time they’ve reached college age, they still don’t know what they want to do. After visiting the studio one day with her father, legendary string arranger, composer and conductor Jimmie Haskell, the light bulb just went off. She saw her father work as the session singers went about the business of cold-reading their parts and delivering the goods on the spot.

Scottie was absolutely amazed and inspired. Then and there, she committed herself to becoming a part of the magic as a session singer.

“I literally remember sitting in the booth watching my father conducting a live recording session. I was absolutely blown away by the expertise of the session singers in particular. I decided in that moment – Wow!! That’s what I want to do!!”

By age seven, Scottie was a working professional and quickly became known to all of the vocal contractors in town.
